If you live in the Houston, Texas area and are interested in digging into your wallet and purchasing Christmas presents for the less fortunate, you can contact any of these local organizations and they will be more than happy to take your donations.

The Boys and Girls Country of Houston Inc is taking donations now for those wishing to sponsor a child or an entire cottage for Christmas. You can also choose to provide filled stocking for Christmas morning. Boys and Girls Country was established in 1971 and is a not-for-profit charitable home for children. This is an organization that provides a family style safe and nurturing Christian home for child regardless of whether their families can afford to pay or not. The facility is located about 35 miles northwest of Houston. Up to 56 boys and 32 girls between the ages of 5 - 18 may be at Boys and Girls Country of Houston at any given time. They also support as many as 60 other children who have gone off to college, trade school, military or their first job. A Better Tripp Moving and Storage Company's and Winwood Presbyterian Church team up and participates annually in Operation Christmas Child. Since Operation Christmas Child came about in 1993 more than 39 million wrapped shoe boxes have been delivered to children in 120 different countries. Goodfellows is an organization that was created by the Houston Chronicle for the purpose of helping those less fortunate during the holiday season.
