One of the best things you can do this Christmas in Chicago is to give a Christmas gift for a needy child or adult. Christmas gifts need to be new. Other than that, most charities put very few restri
ctions on what they will take. Here's a selection of charities who usually accept Christmas gifts for needy individuals and families.

Toys for Tots. The Toys for Tots foundation is one of the most recognizable toy drives in the country and a large one in Chicago as well. The foundation seeks new toys and also volunteers as the Marines of the Chicago battalion have deployed. www.chicagotoysfortots.org.

Chicago Boys and Girls Club. The Boys and Girls Club holds a toy drive starting in December. You can either donate money or a new toy. Check out their website closer to Christmas for more ideas.

Primo Center. Primo Center is a women's and children's shelter in Chicago. They seek people to sponsor families for Christmas. The primo Center provides wishlists for food and gifts.

WGN Toy Drive. Television station WGN holds an annual toy drive in December for new toys. Drive down to their station on Michigan Avenue to drop off new, unwrapped toys.

Catholic Charities Toy Drive. Catholic Charities holds an annual toy drive in December. They seek new toys, and donations can be made at most Catholic churches.
