My son
I knew one day you would find me
And now, you fill my every moment
The tiniest of miracles, swiftly becoming a man, before my very eyes
Carrying within you, so much that comes from me
I wish for you, so many things
And I speak not of material possessions, you must know
Wh
at I desire for you, is so much more, than such trinkets could possibly provide
I pray, that whatever challenge presents itself
Will be handled by you, with confidence and grace
Your mother's very definition, of success
That you will hold within you, the strength and ability, to face adversity
And learn to accommodate, that which differs from all you have known
To be fair, just, and open-minded
Possess the courage to stand, for what you know, is right
Uninhibited, and unafraid
To have your heart broken, without lashing out
Rather, walk away with newfound knowledge, and peace
No matter how the world presents itself to you
I hope you stand firm in your knowledge of self
And with all of my heart, I wish for you, all I strive to be
Each day, because of you
