Fireworks MX 2004 Tutorial: Blue Lady Bug Scrapbook Layout and Frames
In this tutorial I will show you how to create a scrapbook layout with Blue Lady Bugs. This is a blue scrapbook layout with lady bugs. I will show you how to create the background, photo frames, and t
he lady bugs. The Lady Bugs are created using the Critters1DC dingbat. If you do not have this dingbat installed on your computer, you will need to install it before creating this layout. You can do a search on Google for the dingbat.
Create a new canvas to work on and create it the size that you need your scrapbook page to be. Then select the rectangle tool and draw a rectangle the same exact size as your canvas. Change the border color to 0099CC. You will need to apply the Wet stroke to the border and set the tip size to 12. Change the color fill of the rectangle to 0099CC. Then change the texture to grass and change the amount to 50%. That's it for the background.
Next, we will create the lady bugs. So, go ahead and grab your text tool from the tool panel on the left. Draw a text box on your layout and type the letter T in the text box. To get the lady bug, you will need to change the font style to Critters1DC. Change the size of the lady bug to 70. You can adjust the size if you need to. Change the color of the lady bug to 22A7D3. There is not stroke applied to the lady bugs.
Now you will need to duplicate the other lady bugs that you need. Right click on the lady bug that you jut created and click Edit > Duplicate. Drag the duplicated lady bug to the other corner. Then duplicate the lady bug for the bottom.
The last step is to create the photo frames. Grab the rectangle tool again. Draw a rectangle on the layout. Draw it the size that you want. If you wish to draw them like mine, go ahead. You will need to draw a larger one at the top and two smaller ones below it. Once you have all of your frames drawn, click all of them to select them. Hold down the shift key on your keyboard when you click them, to select all of them. Then change the border color to 0099CC. Change the stroke category to Wet. You can set the tip size to 12. You can adjust the tip size if you need too.
That's it. Now you can insert your photos into the frames or you can export it to the program that you use and finish it there.
