Celebrity (R) Ham with Natural Juices : Consumer Product Review

You'll Find These Delicious Hams at Walgreens (R)

While shopping at Walgreens (R) Pharmacy last week, I noticed that one of the food items they had on sale was Celebrity (R) brand canned ham. Being rather fond of these canned hams, I just had to buy one. The full name of this product is Celebrity (R) Ham with Natural Juices. Perhaps you've seen these delightful canned hams at Walgreens (R) Pharmacies or other retail stores. These 12 ounce hams are packaged in somewhat- oblong, or teardrop- shaped navy blue cans, which are approximately 4"x 5 3/4 x 1.53. The printed label on the Celebrity (R) Ham with Natural Juices features an illustration of (presumably) the enclosed product on a cutting board with several slices cut out of the ham. The attractive ham in the illustration is sitting atop what appears to be a bed of lettuce, with some red and green grapes alongside. The top of the ham is covered with sliced pineapples and cloves. The actual Celebrity (R) Ham with Natural Juices does closely resemble the beautiful ham printed on the label. Several times, I have purchased and eaten these hams and have never seen an ounce of fat on any of the hams that I have eaten.

Celebrity (R) Ham with Natural Juices is a product of Denmark, which is known for, among other things, excellent canned hams. This excellent canned ham is fully cooked and can be eaten straight from the can, if so desired. Quite a few times, I have nibbled at pieces of these hams straight from the can. That's one of the great things about this ham, if you want to eat it cold, as in ham sandwiches, you can do so instantly. If you want to heat it in the oven, per the package illustration, you can also do it very quickly and easily. Because I had a can of pineapple chunks that I wanted to utilize, I decided to heat the Celebrity (R) Ham with Natural Juices for dinner two nights ago. I mixed some pineapple chunks with chopped onions and added a mixture of prepared Teriyaki Sauce, prepared Sweet and Sour sauce, catsup, mustard, garlic and ginger. After refrigerating the sauce for a few hours, to let the flavors meld, I poured it atop the Celebrity (R) Ham with Natural Juices and baked it in an aluminum baking dish at 325* for approximately 45 minutes.
