This is a pretty scrapbook layout and frames with red roses. The background is brown and the border is red. There is a plaid texture applied to both the background and the border. Then there are two roses
in each corner. In this tutorial I will show you how to create the Brown and Red Roses scrapbook layout. I will also show you how to create the frames. This scrapbook layout is created using Fireworks.

First, we will create the background of the layout. Go ahead and create the canvas to work on. You will need to create the canvas the size that you need the scrapbook page to be. After you have created your canvas, you will need to select the rectangle tool. Draw a rectangle the size of your canvas. If you are having a time drawing the rectangle the exact size as the canvas, you can draw a small rectangle, then change the width and height in the properties window.

The color fill will need to be changed to #666633. To get the plaid effect, you will need to add a texture. Change the texture to Plaid Tight. The amount of texture will need to be changed to 50%. You can adjust the texture if you want too. Next, you will need to change the border properties. Change the border color to #A8001F. Then change the stroke category to 3D Glow. The tip size needs to be changed to 7. You will also need to add a texture to the border. Apply the Plaid Tight texture to the border too. Change the amount to 100%.

Next, we will create the frames. Select the rectangle tool again. Draw a rectangle on your canvas. Apply the same properties to the border that you applied to the background border. Then duplicate the other two frames. Look at the image that I have provided to see how to arrange the frames.

The next step is to add the roses. The rose graphic can be found here. Once this page loads, you will see all of the roses. The rose graphic that you are looking for is the first graphic in the fifth row. Right click on the graphic and click Copy Image. Paste the image on the layout in Fireworks. Drag the rose to the top left corner. Right click on the rose graphic and click Edit > Duplicate. Drag the duplicated graphic to the bottom right corner.

  • The background is brown and the border is red.
  • There is a plaid texture applied to both the background and the border.
  • Then there are two roses in each corner.
