Fireworks Tutorial: Green Splatter Butterfly Scrapbook Layout
This is a green scrapbook layout with a splattered border and butterflies. In this tutorial I will show you how to create the Green Splatter Butterfly scrapbook layout. I will also show y
ou how to create the frames. You will need to be using Fireworks MX 2004 to create this scrapbook layout. If you do not have this version of Fireworks, you will find the effects of the style that you will need to apply to the butterfly.
Go ahead and create a canvas to work on. It is best of you create the canvas the size that you need the scrapbook page to be. Then click the rectangle tool in the tool panel. Draw the rectangle on the canvas. Draw it the exact size of the canvas.
Next, we will change the properties of the rectangle. Change the color fill to #006666. Then change the texture amount to Grass and the amount of texture to 20%. The border color will need to be changed to #006666. The Stroke Category will need to be changed to Fluid Splatter. The tip size of the splatter will need to be changed to 8. If you need to change the tip size, you can. You may need more or less of the splatter.
We will go ahead and draw the frames for the scrapbook layout. Using your rectangle tool, draw a square or rectangle on your layout for your frame. Change the border to the same properties as the background border. You can change the color fill of the background to white. Duplicate your other frames by right clicking on the frame and click Edit > Duplicate. Look at the photo to see how to place your frames.
Now we will create the butterflies that you need for the layout. We will create these butterflies using the Critters1DC dingbat. If you do not have this dingbat, you will need to install it before continuing. Select the text tool from the tool panel and draw a text box on your canvas. Type the letter G in the text box. Change the font to Critters1DC.
