How to Create a Furry Pink Happy Birthday Scrapbook Layout for Girls

This is a Happy Birthday scrapbook layout for girls. It has a pretty furry border and background. It also has balloons and photo frames. In this tutorial I will show you how to create the Furry Pink Happy Birthday scrapbook layout. This scrapbook layout is created using Fireworks MX 2004. You can use any version with this tutorial. Please see the photo that I have provided to see the end results of this tutorial.

Open your Fireworks program and create a new canvas to work on. Create the canvas the size that you need to page to be. The background color is not going to matter. We will be covering it with the background of the scrapbook page anyway.

Ok, select the rectangle tool from your toolbar and draw a rectangle on your canvas. Draw the rectangle the size of the canvas because this is going to be your background and border. You will need to change the color fill of the background. Change the color to # CC0099. You will also need to apply a texture to the background. The texture is going to be Grass and the amount is going to be 50%.

Now we will create the border for the Happy Birthday scrapbook layout. Make sure the rectangle is still selected by clicking it. Change the border color to # CC0099. Then change the stroke category to Viscous Alien Paint and change the tip size to 8. You may have to adjust the tip size if your scrapbook layout is a different size than mine. It's ok to adjust the tip size, it will not mess up the layout.

Next, we will add the balloons to the layout. The balloons are created using dingbats. I used the Fantas Second Dingbat. You will need to download the dingbat if you do not have it installed. You will need to draw you a text box and type the letter x in the text box. Change the font style to Fantas Second.

We will create the first set of balloons and duplicate all of the others. After you have typed the letter x and changed the font, you will need to change the color. The color fill will need to be changed to #95E660. The outline or stroke will need to be changed to #AF3892. The size of the balloons is going to depend on the size of your layout. I set my balloons to a size 96 but you may need them larger or smaller.
