the Wild Seed

The cultivated seed grows lovely and strong
when planted deep and tended well
The predicted results are there
and all is beautiful and well

The wild seed grows wherever the wind carries it
in the farthest reaches and most untamed lands
sprouting forth its own loveliness and strength
in crags and barren desert-scapes

No one can predict what the result will be
or how it will survive
when the wild seed takes root
in the most inhospitable of environments

Buried deep within its DNA
are all it needs to survive and flourish
and when it blooms there is no denying
the inherent beauty and wonder
of the seed that grows by will rather than design.
