As a parent I am constantly looking for various ways that I can boost my children's immune system during the fall and winter months. It seems that there is always one of their friends that is sick and still comes to school to spread germs. Kids do get germs other than at school, but for my family sc
hool is the biggest problem. There are several things that I have found that work to keep kids strong and healthy during the course of the school year. Using some of the ten tips below I have been able to keep my kids number of colds down to one a year. Why not give some of the tips below a try. You may be surprised at the results.

1. The first tip on the list is to make sure your toddler gets an adequate amount of sleep. Many take for granted how not getting the right amount of sleep can affect a child's immune system. Lack of sleep has actually been shown to weaken a child's immune system. This can lead to a child being more likely to get sick. A toddler should be getting at least 10 or more hours of sleep per day. This can easily be done by setting a bedtime for your baby and sticking with it. This also should be done for at least one nap time during the day for toddlers.

2. Proper diet is the next step to making sure your child has a strong and healthy immune system. Many toddlers do not get the vegetables or fruit that their young bodies need each day. Your child should eat plenty of leafy green vegetables daily as well as fresh fruit, such as apples, grapes, bananas, and so on. Be sure that you take the time to clean all fruits and vegetables properly before feeding them to your child. If your child does not like eating their vegetables, try making a healthy dip to go along with it. Many toddlers love the idea of dipping their vegetables into a creamy mixture. This helps to enhance the flavor and makes eating vegetables more enjoyable.
