Professors Believe it was an Ancient Healing Center Drawing Pilgrams from All Over Europe

I enjoy studying Celtic Mythology. I have a copy of the ancient Welsh tales, the Mabanogian that King Arthur was based on, copies of all of the movies about Arthur, and a copy of a book by Douglas Mon
roe titled "The 21 Lessons of Merlin." The book details the story of Arthur when he was a boy growing up and being taught magic by the druid Merlin. Merlin, like Arthur, if they existed, may have been more than one person. Sort of like a title more than one person's name. "The Merlin of Britain." One chapter in the book tells the classic story while the next chapter details how all of the magic was done, and so on and so on. I also have an exact miniature replica of Stonehenge. Stonehenge has always figured prominently in the legends and magic of that time period. Aside from the great Pyramid in Egypt, Stonehenge is probably the most well known and written about ancient monument in the world.

A few years ago, I joined the OBOD. The OBOD, or Order of Bards Ovates and Druids is a sort of fraternal order in Britain, somewhat similar to the Masons here in the United States. Bards were the poets and historians of the ancient world while ovates were the seers and diviners. The druids were sort of a culmination of all of them, meaning in one translation, "wise men of the oak." The druids have been much associated with Stonehenge through the years and were even once thought responsible for building it, though that has been proven not to be true, as it is much older. Supposedly, being a member of the OBOD, I would have been allowed to enter the inner circle of Stonehenge for the yearly celebration of the summer solstice in June. Unfortunately I never got to go. Most of the grounds of Stonehenge are now closed to tourists because of damage to the monument. They even held rock concerts there for a while until things got out of hand. Now the whole thing might be closed even at the solstice, if I'm not mistaken.
