Are you a Star Wars fanatic? Then Wookieepedia is the place on the internet for you, be you kid or as old as John McCain's ideas. The mania for all things Star Wars long ago extended beyond the celluloid representation of Luke Skywalker's quest for a purpose in life. Shortly after the release of the
original Star Wars film, A New Hope, the toys flooded the market and shortly after that Star Wars became an excuse to make money doing whatever it took. (Just try asking George Lucas about that infamous Star Wars Holiday Special.) Across the roiling waves of the ensuing decades, Star Wars crashed ashore as a cultural touchstone in much the same way as, well, the Holy Bible. For all those that are fascinated by the flame of the Star Wars universe who simply must learn every tiny bit of nuance concerning the relationship between Han Solo and Jabba the Hut, or for every gamer who has gotten a headache after knocking up against the wall while playing the Lego Star Wars game there is Wookieepedia.

The Wookieepedia is, as you may have guessed, a takeoff of Wikipedia. Wikipedia, in case you are John McCain, is an online encyclopedia roughly as reliable as a Dana Perino press conference. The Wookieepedia is an online encyclopedia devoted to all things Star Wars. Like the rightly maligned Wikipedia, Wookieepedia is user generated, meaning that users can add or update information. For this reason, of course, everything that you read on the Wookieepedia should be taken with a grain of Tatooine sand. Wookieepedia also offers forums and chat rooms in addition a dazzling array of articles that contain so much minutiae that if Wookieepedia were an actual Star Wars convention the geek quotient would suffocate the average person.
