Things You Need to Know Before You Dye Your Red Hair

Redheads are unique, as there are less redheads then any other natural color throughout the world. I for one am a natural redhead, and I will admit from time to time I love to change my hair color. However, for redheads dying your own hair isn't as simple as looking for a shade you like. If you do,
chances are you will not end up with that color. Especially if your trying to become a blond.

So how can a natural redhead archive blond hair? If you use a blonde dye, you will more then likely end up with a strawberry blonde or even a light orange. There is one way to guarantee blonde results. You will need to buy a product that strips the color out of your hair. One of these products is call Maxim Blonde and cost around twenty dollars. You will find it in the same section as all the other hair dyes and colors. Using a product such as this will leave your hair dry. And if you do not follow the directions to the exact minute you'll end up with over processed hair that looks more like cotton fuzz, then blonde locks. After you get your color removed, you will have light blonde hair. If the shade is to light, you can use a temporary color or semi permanent color to get the blond results you desire.

If your looking for a lighter red then you already have, but don't want to go blonde, use a dark blonde hair dye. By using a dark blonde you will lower your chances of having orange tones. The light the shade of blonde you use, the more likely you are to end up with orange tones.

Going darker is easier for redheads. If you dream of having black or dark brown hair, all you need is to dye it that color. You will start to see some of the red peaking through in a few weeks, but this is normal as all hair colors will fade. You can use special shampoo's to help prevent fading, however if your in the sun a lot you can expect a little fading no matter what you do.
