Why Do Some People Still Deny it

THE WAR ON CHRISTMAS

Okay, for those of you who walk while dragging your knuckles on the ground and breathe through your mouth on the way to your neighbours trailer to watch enlightening TV like WWE Smackdown because you can't afford electricity or a buck for the paper, read carefully. I'll type this as slow as I can so
you can keep up.

There are among us those Neanderthals who haven't heard of the war on Christmas. An article came across my desk the other day that pertains to the UK and how scared they are of offending Muslims. This is not particular to the UK, it includes all of Europe. And it should worry us here in North America. The article cites only England, granted, but I think it is safe to say it includes Great Britain and, indeed, the United Kingdom.

A school over there has banned Christmas cards in class. A school. Christmas cards. How low can we go? A court has told a homeowner he can only have so many Christmas lights on his house. I guess a man's home isn't his castle anymore. This from a land that makes a good deal of money giving castle tours. A traditional Nativity play has been replaced by reggae style Christmas carols. Makes sense. Don't want to upset any Bob Marley fans.

A school in Rotherham decided to offer halal turkey and chicken for its Christmas meal. I don't know what halal turkey is, but it sounds like tofu to me. Why have they done this? Because they have a large Muslim population who are putting pressure on them. Sounding familiar folks?

Businesses do not seem to be immune against this onslaught. Three out of four (74%) British firms said this week that they had outlawed tinsel, trees and other traditional festive trappings from the workplace. Employers are afraid of possible litigation. ( That's slapping you upside the head with a lawsuit for those of you who have trouble with words more than 2 syllables long)

Jack Straw, former foreign secretary and now leader of the House of Commons, said it was, "politically correct nonsense". Horsefeathers. England is as scared as Spain, France, Germany and other countries of offending these Muslim pieces of work.

I understood what Youranter meant, Paul. Sounds like you're proving his point.

When you referred to me as an "affirmative action readers", what were you trying to say? Maybe you should brush up on your sarcasm. When people have to ask questions about your quips, it is a good indication you suck at it.

I can't help it clown. You just make my point over and over again with your idiocy. Who said affirmative action was denied to whites? You seem to have graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Gawd, see what I have to deal with Don? Careful what you blog. You might get a bunch of these affirmative action readers following you too.

Very nice use smug sarcasm to compensate for the fact that you can't defend your silly opinions. Don, glad to see Youranter let you out of your box early today.

and Don, Christmas Trees are actually just decorated evergreen coniferous trees--No one grows Christmas Trees, Holiday trees or Ramadan Trees--which is exactly my point--WHO THE HELL CARES WHAT PEOPLE CALL THE F'ING TREES? And no one is banning Christmas trees either, as I have said before, Rockefeller Center has an enormous Christmas Tree, usually a Norway Spruce, every year since 1937 and it exists in one of, if not the most diverse city in the world. Have you ever see the windows at Macy's NYC? A trumped up story here or there doesn't a "war on christmas" make. THERE IS NO WAR ON CHRISTMAS FOR GODS SAKE, CELEBRATE AND ENJOY WHATEVER HOLIDAY YOU PREFER AND GET ON WITH IT.

No Youranter, one minute you are arguing on religious grounds, claiming that the relatively rare opposition Christmas trees and Santa are an assault on the Christian holiday of Christmas by people pandering to muslims, and in the next breath you're arguing that the Christmas tree is not a religious symbol. Your whole riff on this topic has to do with the freedom to express religion freely, right? So I say again, if Christmas trees are Pagan non-religious symbols, why do you care so much about what people call them and where they are displayed or not displayed? Now you may proceed with your denials Youranter...
