Sad Saturday Nights Without Amy Poehler of Saturday Night Live

Amy Poehler is Leaving NBC's "Saturday Night Live" & I Miss Her Already

Amy, say it isn't so. You're really leaving Saturday Night Live? I'm crushed.

When a new season of SNL opened, you had America in stitches playing a raging Hillary Clinton to buddy Tina Fey's clueless Sarah Palin. If Chris Farley and David Spade were the funniest male tag team spawned from SNL, you and Tina are the
best funny female duo. But as much as I love Tina, this isn't about her. It's all about you.

Besides your great SNL sketch work, Weekend Update is losing a co-anchor. Your chemistry with Seth Meyers harkens back to Jane Curtain and Dan Aykroyd's wacky banter - except I don't remember Meyers ever calling you an ignorant slut - at least not on camera.

Amy, I guess what I'm fumbling around trying to say is: Don't leave! You're heading off to do a new show, so congratulations. Yeah, ok, I guess that's reason enough to go, but Regis Philbin used to tape Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and still made it to his daily talk show Live With Regis and Kelly. Of course Regis had it easy. His shows were produced in NYC. Considering your new show will probably be out in Hollywood, a cross country commute to do both is out of the question. Or is it? Three words: Frequent Flyer Miles!

I just remembered, you're also expecting. That's a pretty unavoidable situation. OK, there's that, but you were in the movie Baby Mama with Tina Fey. You know what to do already! It should be a piece of cake to get right back to work!

Amy, I loved you before you were given the gift of Hillary Clinton running for president, but your creepy channeling of her made me realize how indispensable you are to SNL. Hear that Lorne Michaels? Amy Poehler is worth a raise! But money isn't everything and there's just so many times you can say "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!" before you thirst for new challenges. I worked with a young female comic who tried out for SNL. She made it to more than a few callbacks, but ultimately didn't make the cut. When I remember her telling me how tough it was, I think of you who not only made it, but in doing so made the show all the better for you being there.

I will miss her, I think her colleague got all the attention and it wasn't fair. From movies to better skits.

Yeah, she'll be missed, but I'd be surprised if her next move isn't a hit. Her old school stuff from Upright Citizen's Brigade are still my favorite bits. That and Kaitlin.

Watch The Might B on Nickelodeon...I know it's a cartoon, but if you love Amy that much, you will laugh, I promise!

I've never watched the show. Not once. Never had the urge to.
