As you read this article another person has died due to a prescription drug they either abused or was unaware that if combined with another drug it could result in death. It's time to do a little of your own research, wouldn't you agree? The side effects mentioned in the leaflet that came with your prescription forgot to mention that "this drug is currently under investigation" or "this drug has been recalled due to a class action lawsuit." After I wrote the last article for this site "Is the Drug Your Taking Bad for You? by Nicholl McGuire, " I spoke to my grandmother and found out that she was currently taking a total of nine drugs daily! So that brings me to this question, do you know how many drugs daily are your elderly family members taking and do you know whether these drugs are presently under investigation?
Two of my grandmother's prescribed medicines, in addition to the others mentioned in the last article, currently have many lawsuits against them, yet they are still being sold! The first Zetia is used to lower cholesterol levels, according to the Zetiaclaimcenter.org website. However, it has been linked to drug induced hepatitis, liver failure, acute Pancreatitis, and thrombocytopenia, as mentioned in a study entitled ENHANCE conducted in December 2007. The FDA was aware of the study, but chose not to issue any warnings about the findings.
The second drug dear ole' grandma takes daily is Prolisec. This drug is prescribed for decreasing the amount of acids produced in the stomach, as reported on the Drugs.com website. The problem with this drug is it may cause heart attacks, heart failure, and heart related sudden death as reported by Internet attorney websites representing the families of the victims. When I told grandma about my findings, at first she defended her drugs like an addict denying he or she has a problem, but after speaking to her from a spiritual standpoint, since that is the only way she will truly listen is if you bring God into it, she agreed that maybe she didn't need so many.
