My wife and I are trying to have another child. And, as part of that effort, we've been investing in pregnancy tests. After experimenting with a couple other tests, the brand we've chosen is the Answer Early Results Pregnancy Test.I had never heard of the brand before. It's not one you see being advertised on television and the box is so plain, I almost didn't even notice it when it was on the shelf next to the other, more recognizable brands. What ended up selling me on the Answer brand was the value.
One thing I learned when we were trying to get pregnant with our daughter is the cheaper pregnancy tests work just as well as the more expensive brands. When I looked at the Answer pregnancy tests, the thing that really stood out for me was the fact we were getting two tests for the price of one of the other brand names. This is important to me because, when we were trying to get pregnant with our daughter, it took us several tries and several tests. And, considering we are older now, chances are we are going to have the same thing happen this time too. So, the more tests we can get for our money the better. In fact, I paid about a dollar less for two of the Answer pregnancy tests than my wife paid for another brand of test (I can't remember which brand exactly).
The only tests I've seen that are a better value are the ones we can buy at the local dollar store for a buck. And, despite what I said before about all tests being the same, I have some doubts about those tests.
The Answer tests are pretty simple to use. The woman urinates into a cup and then soaks the tip of the test in her urine for about 5 seconds. If the test is done correctly, the display area will change color a bit and then you just wait to see the results. So far, I have to say the test works really fast. The box says it can take up to three minutes but we've managed to have the results (which unfortunately have been negative so far) within a matter of seconds. We've used more expensive brands that didn't work that quick. When you're done, you just throw it away. Unless, of course, it comes back positive; in which case you'll have to decide whether to save it and show it to all your friends first.
