I am a firm believer that you're only as old as you feel and there is nothing that keeps you feeling young than playing games, particularly those geared towards keeping your mind sharp and clear. It's just a reality that, after a certain age, your memory may start to get a little foggy, as your brain cells start to decrease with time. Brains, just like bodies, need to be exercised in order to say in top form.
There are so many online sites where you can find an abundance of free game-play resources to help your mind remain alert. Getting to have hours of fun at zero cost is the best of both worlds for gamers age 50 and over.
Here are some websites that you can visit if you are a 50+-year-old gamer who wants to revitalize yourself mentally:
A Fun Zone
Website: http://www.afunzone.com/
A Fun Zone is a wonderful site full of numerous activities to keep the old noodle flexible. They offer crossword puzzles, brain teasers and challenging word games and puzzles like Sudoku, cryptograms, word searches, jjgsaws and more. They also have Mahjong (my personal favorite type of brain game), free full-version demo downloads of popular games and a free daily newsletter you can sign up for, in order to get a Daily Brain Teaser in your inbox.
You will easily get addicted to this place.
AGame.com
Website: http://us.agame.com/en/
AGame.com is a free site for all ages and includes games in several categories, including those for cognitive skills and puzzles. This is another delightful place to visit, where you will probably have a hard time breaking away.
You can chat with other gamers and, if you have a website, you can embed some of the games into your webpages for your visitors.
Amby's Online Games
Website: http://amby.com/go_ghoti/on-line.html
Amby's Online Games site has several links to online puzzles, logic skills games, memory games, trivia, mazes and the like. It's not a fancy website, but provides good resources to unique games that stimulate your mind.
Puzz.com
Website: http://www.puzz.com/
