The Best Diner in New Jersey
The Union Plaza Diner located on Route 22 in Union, New Jersey is the absolute best diner I have eaten there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is so incredibly diverse and extensive and the value for the amount of food you get is incredible. This Greek owned diner has been a

United States of America staple on Route 22 for over 40 years. It was recommended by a friend whose mother eats there on a weekly basis.
The diner also is unique in that it offers a full service bar with a huge drinks menu (which is becoming more common among diners in NJ such as Americana dinner and Skylark in Edison, NJ). Beyond the bar which is front and center upon entrance into the bar you are also confronted with a showcase of the most delicious looking deserts. From pies and cakes to head size cookies the array is absolutely mouthwatering. The diner is almost always open (and is open 24 hours on weekends) and offers both eat in as well as take out service.
My personal favorite part of the Union Plaza Diner's menu is the healthy section. While most restaurants now offer some sort of similar option the selection is slim picking. The union plaza diner boats an entire page of healthy selections for breakfast and dinner as well as an entire page of low carbohydrate options. I have never had to wait more than a couple seconds to be seated and the service is prompt and friendly. While I have sampled many other diners in the Central Jersey area (more so in the Somerset County area) it stills remains true that Union Plaza is by far the best despite the fact that it's 40 minutes from where I live, and it is located in not exactly the most beautiful part of the State. I have never had a meal there that I felt was poor in quality and I have never left this diner feeling hungry. Next time you are craving a good meal I recommend you go out of the way and try this delicious diner!
