Believe it or not, there are many people that wear specific hair styles specifically for their partners. Many women and men grow their hair long, even if they don't want to, to please their partner. Some men wear specific styles to please their partners as well. Your hair style and your partner is a choice to be made as a couple. Should you set boundaries when it comes to selecting a hair style just to please your partner?

Your Hair Belongs to You and Not Your Partner

Stop and think for a moment. Your hair belongs to you and not to your partner. Since your hair is part of your body, shouldn't you make the personal choice as to which hair style you like the most?

Some couples will argue that your partner has to see your hair style daily. It is no different than certain grooming habits or selecting clothes that are pleasing to wear. You don't want to embarrass your partner with a hair style or seem less physically attractive to them.

Some Partners Don't have a Hair Style Preference

Initially, when you hear of a person wearing only the hair style that their partner chose, you might jump to the conclusion that it is a shallow relationship or perhaps even a controlling relationship. This is not always the case.

Some partners really don't have a hair style preference. They could care less how their hair looks. Instead of flipping through the hair style books at the beauty salon, these people take their spouse along and ask them to select the hair style.

Trusting Your Partner's Judgment

Some people very much want the input of their partner when it comes to hair style. They trust their partner's judgment. Remember, hair styles are a matter of personal preference. No hair style is the perfect hair style or only hair style for each individual. Whether a hair style looks wonderful or looks horrible is completely subjective.
