Dancing with the Stars Fall 2008: The First Results Show

Actor Ted McGinley is the Second Celeb to Quickstep into the Sunset

The first official elimination episode of the seventh season of Dancing with the Stars aired this evening on ABC. The show opened with the season's professional dancers, donning striking black and red outfits, taking to the ballroom floor
with their first group number. Then co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris offered up a re-cap of last night's action, complete with video clips of the dances. The leaderboard standings were then reviewed, and the first two couples saved to dance next week - Brooke Burke & Derek, and Kim Kardashian & Mark - were revealed.

Comedian Jeffrey Ross and partner Edyta Sliwinska, the couple voted off last night, returned to perform their Quickstep for the audience after a commercial break. Samantha joined the two safe couples backstage, and asked their thoughts on the competition so far. Brooke admitted that she and Derek have "a lot of hard work to do this week" while Kim said that being the last couple saved last night definitely added a lot of pressure. Tom then revealed that Cloris Leachman and partner Corky would be moving on to the next round of the competition.

After a break, pop star Jesse McCartney took to the stage and performed his hit Leavin'. DWTS professional alum Ashly DelGrosso and partner joined him with a dance performance of their own. Former contestant Adam Carolla then hit Hollywood Boulevard in search of thoughts on the new season before Tom and Samantha revealed that Maurice Greene & Cheryl had been saved.

The Jonas Brothers sang their hit Love Bug while sitting atop a string of white lights draped messily across the stage. One of the boys briefly joined pros Derek Hough and Mark Ballas with a few dance steps, and then the house lights went on and the performance went up a few energy notches as two of the female pros hit the floor as well. A segment featuring the celebrities' and pro dancers' thoughts on the season and the rigors of training then aired, complete with celebrities trading amusing barbs. After it finished, Tom comically noted that there's "nothing like sequined trash-talking". Misty May-Treanor & Maks and Warren Sapp & Kym passed on to the next round of DWTS.

FYI: I will not watch again until Cloris is GONE!! I have been a great fan of the show until NOW!! That is just in bad taste! Besides her senility and bad language, what if she falls? Her breaks or sprains could be permanent!! Her partner has done a great job in holding her up, but even he is not superman!!
