About six and a half years ago I got tired. Very tired. I was feeling utterly exhausted, I couldn't think straight and never felt rested no matter what I did. To this day I feel those same symptoms. I have come to a point where I can manage some of those symptoms and am aware of certain things that may trigger them.

One of the things that helped me feel a little better is a technique called NAET, or Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique. Quite a mouthful. When I first got sick, I was seeing a doctor who tried to help me but had run out of options. He recommended that I see a colleague of his to be 'tested' for allergies.

Allergies?

Well, sort of. Ever since I got sick with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, or CFS, my body reacts with extremes. When I get cold, my legs don't feel warm for hours; when I smell perfume, I feel as though I am swimming in a vat of eau de Skunk (no matter how pretty the perfume is); when I get tired, I am bone tired - empty tired - literally exhausted.

So when my doctor mentioned that I may be eating certain foods that my body doesn't like, or may be using health and beauty products that cause my body to react, it made sense. NAET is a technique which helps reset your body. In other words, it tells your body to stop reacting negatively to something. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it seemed worth a try.

Acupuncture?

There are two different methods of NAET. One is using acupressure and the other is using acupuncture. Acupressure stimulates certain pressure points in your body without using needles. Acupuncture uses very small, fine needles to stimulate those same points. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt. In fact, it can be quite relaxing.

How Does it Work?

NAET, or Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique uses applied kinesiology, or muscle testing to determine what your body reacts too negatively. It can test for anything from a reaction to conventional allergens like dust mites or specific foods to a reaction to your own body chemicals like hormones.
