I had always heard that whenever your child gets sick or has a problem, you know what to do as a mommy. It's one of those things that fall under the umbrella of mommy intuition, and somehow you leap into action without even thinking. Me being a hater of all that is blood, vomit, and general ick wond
ered how that would work when my turn to be a mommy came. Now that the time is here and I've lived through a couple of the daily tramatic mishaps, I realize that I too can handle anything that comes my way as mommy.

If a friend were to get sick all over me, not only would I likely get sick myself but we may not be friends anymore. I hate getting sick more than anybody, and it usually results in tears and me whining like a baby. Somehow though when I had to deal with spit up, I never even thought about it. For the first time today, my daughter gagged which resulted in a full fledged vomit. Did I stop to think or feel queasy? Not a chance! I jumped into action, covering myself and not even caring. I had to help my baby at any cost, and that's what being a good mommy is about. I was more concerned about consoling my baby than I was about how it made me feel. First test passed!

I had heard that even the worst of diapers wouldn't get to me. That as a mommy I could look past the mess and realize that it was just part of the job description, and that I could carry on a full conversation without noticing the subject matter at hand. This one I couldn't believe as I would literally gag at the sight of moldy food--and that's no exaggeration! Wonder of all wonders though, when I look into my baby's sweet little face I don't even think about the mess that I'm dealing with. It's true!
