I wrote this on August 11, 1992.
A Father and his little girl are walking along,
Then he puts her on his lap and sings her a song.
She listens endlessly to his voice so dear,
Lays back her head and erases the fears.
So when they're together no one can loose,
As special a love, one would hope to choose.
As she grow
s older, she remembers his songs,
So dear to heart, right where they belong.
Though when any troubles come her way,
His songs so dear, in her heart will play.
I'm turning to you, my Daddy so dear,
Please sing those songs and pull me near.
I need to know that I still have you to hold,
Because since Mommy died I feel so cold.
I love you both, for always too,
Though living without has turned me blue.
So if you'll sing to me a song,
Maybe it will help, our tears be gone.
We need to let her know, that though she is gone,
Our family love will continue to bond.
I'm not trying to upset you, I hope you know,
Yet the more I hide my feelings, the more they grow.
I just know what I can see and feel,
That when you would sing, my pains would heal.
So sing to me Daddy, again please,
And when you're through, the pain will ease.
