Corelle dinnerware is lovely but one thing that is really impressive about Corelle dinnerware is that it is really tough. I have had the same set of Corelle dinnerware for the past twenty years and it takes a licking and keeps on looking nice. I still have every single piece of my Corelle dinnerware from twenty years ago. Since then I have tried a few other brands of dinnerware but they have broken or scratched after awhile but my Corelle dinnerware still looks new and lovely.
Since Corelle dinnerware is tougher then most dinner plate it can be knocked around more then other dinnerware without suffering a chip or crack. Everyday life can be tough on plates and they can suffer a chip or crack over time. Corelle seems to be hardier then the average dinner plate and so they tend to last longer.
One of my Corelle dinner plates was left outside to freeze over a winter. In the spring when I found it the plate was still fine except that it was slightly warped. This plate is not noticeable warped unless I have it stacked with the other Corelle dinner plates otherwise It is still fine after staying outside in freezing weather all winter long. This dinner plate is not favored since it still has the same duty as the other Corelle dinner plates.
Another great advantage about Corelle dinnerware is that they are lighter weight. A light weight dinner plate may not seem like a big deal but when you are doing a lot of dishes then you might want a lighter plate as apposed to a heavy weight plate.
The Corelle dinnerware washes up easier too. They have a slippery design that makes washing them easier then a plate with other designs on them.
