Where as it is great to be bold and daring sometimes -especially with your eye makeup- sometimes you need to tone it down for a more natural look. By a natural look I don't necessarily mean make up free but rather I'm speaking more about natural colors and tones. The great thing about natural colors and tones is that it act a touch of glamour and class to any outfit during any time of the day, bold and daring eye styles are usually more keyed in and appropriate for special events, outfits and times of the day.The first thing that you will want to do is to rub a drop of moisturizer over both of your eye lids. Doing this will help to keep your eye make up in place as well as add a bit of glimmer to your eye make up. Before applying any eye make up though you need to make sure that the moisturizer is completely dry. This usually takes about 5 minutes. If you are pressed for time, use this 5 minutes to do your hair or make the final touches on your outfit.
The next thing you'll need to do is get an eye shadow that is white or an extremely light beige. The second thing that you will need to make sure that you have on hand is a color that is natural for your skin tone. If you have darker skin you will want to use a shade that is a color or two lighter than your skin tone. If you have a lighter complexion then you will want to pick out a color that is a shade or two bronzer than your skin color. This second eye shadow should fall somewhere between beige and brown. I recommend for a powder eye shadow as it will be easier to hold in place and looks more natural.
Step one requires you to run the shade that compares to your skin tone, over your eye lid, over the crease of your eye and all the way up to the brow bone and then tapering off and down on the sides so that it drops down to the outer corner of your eye. After this you want to use the white or light beige that you picked out and run that color across your brown bone starting at the inner corner and working your way out. After you have done this you should use a clean brush or your finger tip to slightly blend the two colors together at the rough edges so that your white eye shadow will give a highlighting affect rather than stand out on its own too much.
