Five Best Howard Stern Moments on Sirius

When Howard Stern announced his decision to move to Sirius satellite radio, many wondered whether the shock jock would be able to keep his show's often imitated format on the new medium. Subscribing fans know that the show has gotten much better than it
was on terrestrial radio. Here are five of the best moments of the Howard Stern show's Sirius incarnation.

5. Artie Lange Roast - Once he set foot on the Sirius airwaves, Howard Stern and his crew began throwing raucous roasts of members of the show. Unlike the watered-down annual Comedy Central roasts, these events features foul mouthed comedians spitting some of the most venomous, heinous jokes ever to stain a microphone--and they're hilarious. None have been better than the Artie Lange roast, which brutally dissected the obese, heroine addicted comedian. From the pre-show to Artie's final stand, this was easily one of the best Stern moments, and a good example of one that couldn't have happened on Sirius.

4. Chris Rock Yells At Howard - Many a single Stern fan were infuriated by Howard's announcement that he'd gotten engaged, but nobody could shake Stern's resolve to tie the knot for the second time. Nobody except Chris Rock, who came into the studio firing on all cylinders and ripping at Stern, telling him, "you don't go back to Alcatrez". Howard later admitted that he'd been genuinely shaken. Rock's appearance earns a spot on this list by being the best guest on the Sirius version of the Stern show.

3. Sal Apologizes - When writer Sal the Stockbroker claimed that the only reasonable explanation for a white woman having a black baby was that she'd been drunk when the act had occurred, Stern show staff banded together to convince him that his racist ways had finally gotten him a formal warning from Sirius HR. Sal's recorded apology was inarticulate, insincere, and completely priceless, and Howard and the gang's relentless mocking of the apology tape still makes an occasional appearance on the show today.
