About two months ago, I bought some new sheets from the Aussino shop in Bangkok. Aussino is an Australian sheets and bedding company that is very popular in Australia and Asia. There are several Aussino shops near my apartment in Bangkok and they have some very pretty sheet and bedding designs. Aussino also sells duvets (comforters), duvet covers, bathmats and towels. I spent about an hour looking at the different Aussino sheet designs (couldn't decide between a floral design with a white background and cream, yellow and pink with pink stripes), then finally bought sheets, pillowcases, a duvet and a duvet cover. When I got the Aussino sheets and bedding home and unpacked everything they looked slightly different than I'd expected. Unlike many other sheet shops, Aussino doesn't have photographs of the sheets and bedding laid out on a bed so you have to gauge what the sheets look like by the photo on the back of the packet. They did have a duvet cover displayed in the store but it was rolled up and suspended from a shelf, so quite difficult to see. If I'd known the sheets were this bright, I probably wouldn't have bought them but, in Thailand, it's a nightmare to return anything, so I was stuck with them.
I got everything unpacked, put the duvet cover on the quilt, put the pillowcases on the pillows and the sheets on the bed. The color of the Aussino bedding was lot brighter than I wanted and very 'busy' (too much pattern going on). However, I decided I could probably live with it and got everything set out.
A week later, the design of the Aussino sheets was less annoying as I was getting used to it, but I still wasn't happy with the choice. I had already decided that for the inability to be able to see what the sheets looked like properly, I wouldn't buy Aussino sheets again. Then I washed the sheets, and that's where the real trouble began.
