Movies Filmed in Georgia

From the elderly to the young, all have their feathers ruffled when a film crew comes into town. Even though filled with excitement that your home town is about to make history, you are still concerned of what type of folk's are these big Hollywood movie stars.
 We don't take kind to strangers lurking and snooping around but maybe it will be good for businesses. Once the town people get adjusted, they sit back on their porches with an eye on the mission at hand.

Covington Georgia is a fairly small town in the middle of Newton County and is home to several movies made. One being The Heat of the Night, some of there studios were set up right next to Hildebrand Road. Quite the excitement to ride by and catch a glimpse of the tents and people eating lunch. Another all time favorite of many was Dukes of Hazards, watching that old general lee car go flying by you was sure to leave lasting memories.

Parts were filmed off West Avenue, in Conyers Georgia as well. This was very exciting to the towns people, what better way to get daily and nightly entertainment for free.
Or to be down town on the square of Covington and watch the police cars go flying around the square. Conyers Georgia had parts of the heat of the night filmed there as well using the court house as a part of the movie. Conyers was also known to have parts of Sweet Home Alabama filmed there.

Fried Green Tomato's was filmed in parts of Fayetteville Georgia, as well as Juliette Georgia. Juliette Georgia is home to The Original Whistle Stop Cafe, where guests can come have a seat on the porch in a rocking chair and be served up with a cold glass of home made lemonade. The best Southern peach cobbler from here to the Mississippi river. Those mouth watering fried green tomato's and fried chicken and barbecue that will have you licking your fingers and begging for more. So if you are ever in Juliette Georgia, swing on by, grab a bite and visit the historic areas where the movie was filmed.
