Savannah Georgia Beaches

Savannah Georgia is a resort town which borders Jasper and Quincy Florida. Savannah is a popular vacation resort with a great deal to offer vacationers all year round. Savannah is located 150 miles from Atlanta.

Cumberland Island National Seashore is accessible by ferry from St. Mary Rivers. The Island is 17.5 miles long and approximately 10 miles wide. Cumberland Island is a remote beach resort and has many historical structures throughout the Island. In addition, over

 300 species of birds are scattered throughout the island, which makes it perfect for bird watching. The Maritime Center occupies the original 1936 U.S. Coastguard station.

Jekyll Island attracts business travelers and families. The beaches are clean and lifeguards are on duty seven days a week. Saint Andrews picnic area offers picnic grounds to all visitors. Jekyll Island offers a large water park, bike trails, and a golf course. Jekyll Island does have two hotel resorts which operate all year round.

St. Simon's Island offers two average size public beaches, the most popular being Massingale Park Beach. One of the main attractions of the island is the St. Simon's Lighthouse, which is over 100 years old. St. Simon's offers a picnic area, bath house, and drinking is permitted on the beaches. St. Simon's seems to attract the younger crowd, possibly due to it's lenient drinking policy.

Tybee Island is a beautiful barrier island on the Georgia coast which was named "Salt" by ancient Indians. Tybee offers miles of beach, forts, and museums. In addition, the island has many cottages, hotels, and motels for lodging. Tybee Island offers a wide sky and salt marshes. Sea Turtles seems to fascinate the vacationers and they seem to have multiplied over the past ten years. Movie celebrities have been spotted on Tybee Island and they seem to return every year. Pirate raids are a common occurrence and they happen on a regular basis. The Savannah Beach Resort & Racquet Club is one of the most popular resorts on Tybee Island.
