NFL Week 5 Upset Predictions & Picks; Spread Underdogs to Win & Games to Stay Away From
Wow what in the world happened in week 4? Cheifs beat the Broncos, Bucs over the Packers, Redskins a 11.5 point underdog beat the Cowboys, and the Cleveland Browns beat the favored Bengals. We have seen a crazy first quarter of the NFL season.
Week 5 Upset Picks:
Seattle Seahawks +7 vs. New York Giants
As bad as the Seahawks looked in weeks 1 and 2, they will upset the New York Giants in week 5. In week 3 the Hawks dominated a weak Rams team and won 37-13. It's easy to look good against such a bad team, but the win did a lot for the Seahawks confidence. The Giants are without star WR Plaxico Burress due to the team suspending him. Without Plaxico, the Seahawk DB's can concentrate on Amani Toomer and shut down Eli Manning. Look for an ugly game as the Seahawks will grind it out with Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett. The Seahaks win 17-14. I am taking them to beat the 7 point spread, you may want to buy a half a point if you can, but I still like them at +7 and even to win if you are looking for a big money maker.
Buffalo Bills +1.5 vs. Arizona Cardinals
Only the Cardinals could have Kurt Warner pass for 470 yards in a loss. The Cardinals defensive backs didn't show up against the Jets. The Bills have not been dominant in all of their four wins, but consistent. Against the Rams the Bills were down 14-6 until late in the third quarter. The Bills stay with the run and Lynch is one heck of a ball carrier. Their balanced attack and much improved defense has been the key to the Bills success. The Cardinals have not been able to play much defense this year and this will cost them against the Bills. Buffalo wins 28-21

Indianapolis Colts -3.5 vs. Houston Texans
Addai, Manning, Harrison, Wayne..... vs. the Texans? yeah -3.5 seems like a steal. The Colts win big 31-14

I think the odds makers are giving the Patriots too much credit and not enough credit to the 49ers at home. +9.5 for the Chiefs shows the Chiefs did not gain any respect last week upsetting the Broncos. I await the spreads for the Redskins vs Eagles. I have seen some spreads with the Redskins being 6 point undergods. Oddsmakers are still not convinced the Redskins might be better than they think.
