This simple tin Valentine Heart candle votive is a fun gift that you can make for anyone for Valentine's Day. While I recommend this craft for adults, with a little help kids of all ages could make this simple tin Valentine Heart candle votive.

To Make This Simple Valentine Heart Candle Votive You Will Need:

1 Aluminum Cookie Sheet (disposable kind)

Nail

Hammer

Gel Wood Stain

Old Rag or T-shirt

Pillar Candle

Scissors

Ruler

Red, Pink, or White ribbon

Hot Glue

The first step is to measure how tall your pillar candle is.

You want to cut your piece of aluminum cookie sheet to be about one inch taller than your candle. To determine how wide it needs to be simple place your pillar candle at the edge of the strip of aluminum you cut. Roll the candle along until it has made one complete roll on the cookie sheet. Now, add one inch and cut that line.

Ok, Now, cut two pieces of your red or pink ribbon to the same length as the width of your piece of tin.

Run a bead of glue on the bottom and top edge of the piece of aluminum. Place half of the red or pink ribbon on the glue. Leave the other half hanging off the edge.

Now, flip the aluminum piece over. Run a bead of glue on each edge of the aluminum. Fold your ribbon over and press down.

Now, use your nail to punch out heart designs in your sheet of aluminum. I like to draw out a map of dot swath a small black marker. You can use a heart shaped cookie cutter as a guideline.

You could use different sized heart cookie cutters as guides for more intricate designs.

Now, once you have finished poking out any Valentine Heart design in the aluminum you can rub on some wood gel stain. This will give a vintage or antique look to your Valentine Heart candle votive. You could also paint the candle votive with some simple red or pink spray paint.

Now, once all of the paint has dried on the vintage tin Valentine Heart candle votive you can gently fold it into a cylinder. Run a bead of hot glue along one edge. Press the either edge of the Valentine Heart candle votive.

Now, I like to set my Valentine Heart candle votive on a small plate and set a pillar candle inside!
