Endometriosis is a disease where the cells that normally grow inside the uterus, grow on the outside instead. It is a very painful disease for women to go through. I have been going through it for six years and would like to give some tips to anyone else that may be going through it on how to cope with it. The first thing is not to ever wait if you have abdominal pain, painful periods, and lower back pain. If you feel something is wrong, the earlier you find it, the better.

Also, ask a lot of questions if you go to the doctor. There is no question that is a dumb question when it comes to endometriosis.

The third thing is to make a plan. Find out every step you need to take from the doctor and make a plan for what you are going to do. Endometriosis can and probably will emotionally drain you. There is a lot of support out there. There are message boards that have people with endometriosis and can give you advice or support. There is no way of knowing what will come next once you are treated for this disease. Every person is different as to how well they will respond to treatment.

Never let the symptoms of endometriosis take over your life. Unfortunately, sometimes it does take over your life. You can get very depressed or the pain can get so bad you just don't even want to leave the house. My advice is keep going and never let it stop you. Exercise can help with some of the pain. Read articles, search the internet, and ask the doctor what will help you.
