Embrionic Stem Cell Research

Ethical Argumets

When people are saddened
by a disease,
isn't it good to know
Their illness could cease?

If a debilitating illness
can be conquered
with stem cell therapy,
Why do we stop this ability?

If a person can be treated
with embryonic stem cell,
Why can't we go on with research

so his/her life won't be "hell."

Is an embryo more important
than a full grown being
who now is suffering
from a difficult sting?

If you think about this objectively,
you really may see
that science is important
for a life to free!!!!

I feel so strongly about this subject that I hope that one day very soon this uncomfortable subject, the fiction between science and ethics can be discussed with an open mind so that millions of people can be helped through embryonic research. For those of you who are giving this some thought, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You can get stem cells from cord blood without using embryos. If life begins at conception inside or outside of the body who is to say that life can be used as a medical treatment to cure disease? I don't have a problem with it if personally... but I think there is still a definition of life has to be set in stone. If life begins at conception there would be no difference between an embryo and a baby or a baby from an adult.. they would all be equal it seems to me.. unless there is some sort of legal definition. To me it may be life, but not viable, and not sentient... so I have no real problem with the idea.

Interesting. What an unusual subject. But this was well-written.

Truer words was never spoken in your finely written poem on the stem cell research.

There is controversy about the source of stem cells that needs to be considered, but I agree that it may be a great boon in fighting some diseases.
