The communities that sprawl across the Dallas-Fort Worth area are so entertwined that trying to recommend a night out is like trying to choose the best out of a city the size of Los Angeles or Chicago. There's nowhere else in Dallas/Fort Worth where you can see a live comedy troupe, choose from 2 live theatres or world class music events, grab a cone, visit high class clubs and restaurants or chill at casual familiar standys. And that's just all the attractions I could easily fit in one sentence. Sundance Square is family friendly without sacrificing the tastes of adults.

Fort Worth has a reputation as a proudly western city. Considered less cosmopolitan than it's larger sibling Dallas, it's a city known more for cattle drives (which they still have at the historic stockyards) than a rich and diverse nightlife. What's surprising is just how much variety is packed into the downtown entertainment district, Sundance Square. The best nightlife in Fort Worth is to be found here, and there's enough diversity to keep you coming back again and again.

City Streets is a multi-venue center at 4th and Commerce. There are four clubs here each with unique identities. You can visit a pool hall, a top 40s club, time warp to the 80s, and karaoke your heart out all without leaving the building. There's even a $3 gourmet buffet available during happy hour on Fridays. It's like a different date every night of the week.

Once you decide to venture out of City Streets you'll find that it's surrounded by a huge Barnes and Nobles. This isn't your typical nightlife star, but in downtown Fort Worth it shines as an early to midnight stop to refresh and recharge.

Directly across from the second floor of the Barnes and Noble is a gorgeous view of the Bass Performance Hall angels. They're sculpted in bas relief and trumpet on brass horns, towering 30 feet above the street. The sections that house this view are art, philosophy, and religion, all appropriate sections for a mellow late night chat if your date leans towards the intellectual.
