Remember when high school was the center of our world, when our friends were the heroes of our life, and our girl/boyfriend was our soul mate. Those short four years in high school were a lifetime, it was fun, and we ran carelessly around campus and around town, and we even managed to have a part time job. Remember the lessons our parent taught us from writing our first check to balancing our first checkbook, and the values that has been passed on from them to us. No matter how fun those years might have been, we got bored very fast, and we wanted more.

We all wanted to be treated like an adult; we wanted our own bank account, our first ever credit card with our name on it; most of all we wanted our liberty. If your parents were anything like mine, you would have heard "why are you in such a worry", or "enjoy the moment", and "you will have all your life to be an adult". As their harangue got louder, our need for independence became increasingly hysterical.

We all thought our 18th birthday was the indication of us reaching adulthood. We finally made it to adulthood, wow, so we thought. Only if we had known what was to come, we would have wished to have just a few more years of childhood.

For those of us who went to college right away, it was truly an awakening unlike any we had expected. College was stressful; it required work, goal setting, organizational skills, and personal dedication. Our life was consumed with nonentity. We worked full time, and attended class full time, and yet we managed to catch a movie every month or two.

We finally had the change to dated people who were perhaps college graduated and those in position of power. Our beloved childhood soul mate became a joke compare to the people we are now dating.

Looking back we all can agree that life in itself is very short. Before a gasp of breath it was college graduation day. After graduation we asked ourselves what was next. Some of us answer that question by joining the workforce, and some join some form of volunteer organization, and some return home to reclaim our childhood.
