It's always nice and courteous gesture to bring a hostess gift when you go to a Christmas party or dinner. It's not always easy, though, finding an appropriate hostess gift. Why not consider different jars and bottles filled with food, oils, and wines? When you give these unique hostess gifts, you can decorate the containers so that there isn't a need for any further wrapping. Just decorate the jars and bottles to reflect the gift itself. Here are a couple of ideas for Christmas hostess gifts to get you started.Apple Cider and Cinnamon Sticks
Secure a bundle of cinnamon sticks with a rubber band or a twist tie. Tie a narrow Christmas ribbon over the band or twist tie to cover it up. Add a small ornament or Christmas charm before you tie the bow. Suspend the bundle of cinnamon sticks on the side of a decorative jar filled with apple cider. Tie a large bow around the neck of the jar.
Fancy Wine
Purchase your favorite wine or any wine of your choice for this hostess gift. Attach a spray of holly, faux grapes or even berries to the bottle of wine using a wire wrapped around the neck of the bottle. Hide the wire by tying a large bow with velvet fabric or any other elegant Christmas fabric over the wire.
Mixed Nut Jar
Use any large glass jar that you can find or purchase one at a craft store or a even at a grocery store. Fill the jar with a mixture of mixed nuts. Paint the lid cover of the jar gold. Take some of the assorted nuts and lightly paint them with the gold paint. Cover the lid on the jar with the gold nuts using a hot glue gun to glue them down. Add some gold holly around the gold nuts and tie a gold ribbon around the jar.
Olive Oil and Pasta
Fill a tall, decorative bottle with olive oil. Hang some garlic gloves with jingle bells from the neck of the bottle using a narrow Christmas ribbon. Tie a festive colored bow around the neck of the olive oil bottle. Take another large decorative bottle or jar and fill it with pasta. The shape and kind of pasta is up to you. Decorate this jar the same way you did the olive oil jar with garlic gloves and jingle bells. Tie the same bow around the pasta jar.
