Many times your first instinct, when you meat someone that you like, is to tell them. However, you'll realize that just telling them isn't all that easy. Doubt will be raised in your mind as to whether or not they feel the same way and it can be embarrassing if you get turned down. Don't worry though many people have been in this situation. Nature has been kind to us in offering subtle, non-verbal forms of communication that will help put your fears at ease.
You need to have the right flirting techniques in order to establish if you have common interests, if you have a connection and if the other person feels the same way about you.

One of the first things to remember is to smile and for most this comes naturally when meeting someone new. If you are not sure about your smile it might be a good idea to practice in the mirror. Remember, not to overdo the smile as it might come off as forced or even creepy.

Another thing to remember is eye contact. So when someone looks at you give them a smile and let your eyes linger just a little longer in order to show interest. If you feel confident enough you might even wink. Some people are confident enough to wink, others aren't' either way is fine.

Another technique is to remain curious. Ask questions about the persons background, childhood, schooling, work and so on. Also ask questions about a story behind what he or she is saying. Remembering this technique will encourage conversation and also keeps a conversation going. Always show interest in what he or she is saying and maintain comfortable eye contact.

Taking it one step further is touching. This technique can be risky if you misread his or her signals and could be construed as intrusive. With that said it's a simple technique that involves simply putting your hand on theirs in a subtle way. There is no doubt that they will get the idea.
