Spring Break Vacation Ideas: Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe, whether on the California or Nevada side of the lake can be just the thing for a Spring Break getaway. The beauty of the mountains and the lake are only the beginning of the fun you can have.

Obviously since Tahoe is one of the most pristine and beautiful lakes in the world, swimming, fishing and boating are always available and eminently desirable. The lake is an average of 989 feet deep with depths as far as 1685 feet. The shoreline is sandy and lined with trees for 30 miles
on the Nevada side and 42 miles on the California side. At Lake level, the elevation is 6229 feet above sea level, with the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains surrounding it at 7000 feet elevation and above. Picturesque homes line the lake, mostly summer homes and skiing cabins. Some people live there year round.
