You like music, right? And you've got a Netflix subscription allowing at least three movies out at once, right? And you've got high speed internet, right? Then why not get the Roku and enjoy your passion streamed directly to your TV whenever you want and as often as you want. October witnesses the release of a multitude of musical videos available for instant viewing from Netflix.Elvis Costello and the Imposters. Wow, Elvis and the band are clicking on cylinders on this one. Elvis Costello has always been one of the best live acts around, but this one puts everything else you've seen Elvis do to shame. All the big hits are here kicking off with a searing version of "Waiting For the End of the World" and climaxing in a blistering version of "What's So Funny 'Bout Peace, Love and Understanding."
Hannah Montana in 3-D. Okay, one for the little girls. Hannah Montana is a bona fide sensation for reasons that elude me. I mean, sure, she's got a deeper voice than Harvey Fierstein and that's entertaining and she at least is a decent singer, but why waste that voice on those songs? Netflix this one only if you have kids and by kids I mean little girls.
Morrisey: Who Put the "M" in Manchester. As New Order's Peter Hook put it, Johnny Marr's guitar was nothing without Morrisey's voice. The same thing goes vice versa. The Smiths were admittedly a great band, but on his own Morrisey is something less than what he was in the band. How soon is now? How about how soon will the Smiths reunite. This video features Morrisey on his own in a concert setting.
The Cure: Trilogy. I'll bet a lot of you did not know that at the height of the success of The Cure, Robert Smith took time away from his band to become one of Siouxsie Sioux's Banshees. True story. There is no Siouxsie in this concert performance by the Cure, but you can find the Banshee's elsewhere on Netflix for instant viewing on the Roku. On this video, it's nothing but one enormous Cure hit after another. Except, I think, for Love Cats. I could be wrong.
