If you don't know who the Gosselin's are, they happen to have a television show on TLC titled, " Jon and Kate Plus 8". If you have tuned into the show you will see 8 adorable kids running around and having fun, while two parents bicker at each other over their parenting skills. While the show is entertaining, and sometimes an on air promotional for whatever resort they are at, that is not what's really the hot topic now a days.

If you happen to type in the parents name, the name of the show, or the mothers name in particular you will find that quite a few sites pop up. And many of them do not have too many nice things to say. After reading them and a couple of insider blogs as well I am starting to see a different and more dark side of the show. The sites talk about permanent lighting, Kate having a personal chef, throwing volunteers aside for those with money. It also talks about how the Gosselin's are also trying to take people for their money by asking for "love offerings" when they give speeches.

While I am no fanatic about the show, these sites may be hitting the nail on the head. I feel when it came to the safety of the children of the show the question needs to be asked, are they stepping over the line into child exploitation? Paul Peterson thinks so and I kind of agree with where he is coming from. Everyone, not just Jon and Kate; must think about the consequences of what is going to happen to these children when they get older. How are they going to feel when the cameras or gone, nd "normal" life begins. Or how will they react when they turn to You Tube and see themselves naked in the bathtub.

Only time will tell, but I can tell you one thing...if it was me or my family I don't think I would so quick to yes to having cameras in my home 12 hours a day 3 to 4 times a week.

Takeaways
  • The show and whether or not it is safe for the children.
  • Paul Peterson and his stance.
  • The Gosselin's and love offerings.
