Boys love the idea of a pirate's life, making the high seas their home and relying on their wits to survive. The record breaking success of the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" film series and the appeal of it's star character, Captain Jack Sparrow only added to the intrigue and fascination with pirates. If your son has outgrown his current room theme and counts "Pirates Of The Caribbean" as his favorite movie of all time, he will surely love a Pirate themed bedroom. This decorating article will tell you all you need to know to give him the bedroom of his dreams.Pirate Themed Bedroom Decorating Ideas: Walls. I am a firm believer that every redecorating project should start with a fresh coat of paint. This is especially true when it comes to children's bedrooms, as sticky fingers and wayward crayons can leave walls looking dingy and dull. Remove all traces of your son's previous wall decor and spackle any holes. Clean the walls thoroughly and then prime them accordingly before beginning to paint. A beautiful blue paint color will represent the ocean, while white trim will give the room a very clean and striking look. If you have an artistic flair or would like to commission a local artist to give your son's bedroom a unique and customized look, consider having a pirate ship or a several skull and cross bone designs painted on the walls.
Pirate Themed Bedroom Decorating Ideas: Flooring. A thick, deep blue carpet that complements the paint color will look fantastic in your little guy's bedroom as well as provide his feet warmth in the chilly winter months. If your son's bedroom has hardwood floors, or you would like to minimize allergens by installing laminates, warm up the room with several cozy blue throw rugs.
Pirate Themed Bedroom Decorating Ideas: Bedding. A navy blue or black comforter will look wonderful in your son's pirate themed bedroom. Several "Pirates Of The Caribbean" themed pillows can be used to dress up the bed. A stuffed parrot will look very cute sitting on your son's bed and also go well with the pirate theme.
