America is waiting with anticipation for the Vice Presidential Debate, to be held tonight, in Missouri. Although Gwin Ifill is listed as the "moderator," she is hardly expected to be impartial, since she has already written a book on the rise of Barack Obama into American politics. The release date for her book is about the time of the President's inauguration in January, 2009. It will be interesting to see if she truly can handle herself impartially, or if she jumps on Sarah Palin with both feet and gives Joe Biden fluff.

For the first time in at least the past 50 years, the Vice Presidential candidate is just as important as the Presidential candidate. There is a good chance that the Vice President will be our next President. John McCain's age, combined with his past bouts with cancer, make him a risky option as President. Unlike Ronald Regan who looked vibrant well into his 80s, McCain LOOKS OLD! Will someone at least give him a spray tan for goodness sake? He looks anemic! He looks weak. He looks as if he will keel over within his first month in office and we'll have President Palin before we know it. President Palin who admitted never having met with foreign leaders as a governor, but she "can see Russia from Alaska." President Palin, who although she's been a great governor in Alaska, promotes herself as a "hockey mom." President Hockey Mom?

As much as I hate to say it, we all know that there are still pockets of racism alive and well in America. And there are racists and kooks out there bound and determined to either keep an African American from wining the Presidency, or attacking him after he achieves it. If something happens to him, we'd have President Joe. President Joe, who asks Missouri State Senator Chuck Graham (who is confined to a wheelchair) to "stand up" to receive recognition. President Joe, who thinks FDR was President in 1929 and who used television which wasn't even invented yet to broadcast information about the Great Depression to all of America. With Joe, it's "which foot will you stick in your mouth today?"

Takeaways
  • The Vice Presidential candidate is just as important as the Presidential candidate in this election
  • Which VP candidate will stick their foot in their mouth the most in the VP debate?

Your last comment about neither being "The Decider". People are so emotionally heated by the personal politics of Palin right now. I think we need to remember that in most instances, the VP is hardly ever even seen or heard after the election! Altho' the danger or delight (whichever way you look at it!) of them becoming President does exist.
