The soft caress of silken hair
Brushes across my face in our lair.
The resting head upon my chest
Reminds me that there is not an empty nest.

The breeze from the window fills the room,
While fragrance enters from every bloom.
Lilies, irises, and snapdragon, too,
Give off their aroma for me and you.

The gentle touch from her lips wake me again,
Only to speak momentarily asking, "When?"
I answer differently for her sake,
And I can tell her smile is not a fake.

This gentle beauty is so much more.
It is as if she came from folklore.
Long brown hair and matching eyes,
It is no wonder how she can hypnotize.

The morning light is creeping in
As we both welcome it with a grin.
The cooing sound of the morning dove
Reminds us both how much we love.

Waking Up Together

Waking up as the sun rises makes for a wonderful day.
