Mob Museum in Las Vegas, Virgin Mary in Springfield, Massachusetts, Hospital Window Make Weird News

At times there are events in the news that are slightly offbeat or out of the ordinary from what we are used to hearing in the news. This occurrence has simply come to be known as "weird news." Weird news can be found daily if you look hard enough. Here are two of the latest weird news

events, one occurring in downtown Las Vegas and one in a San Francisco hospital.

According to the Water Cooler, the weird news column at CBS in Denver, the city of Las Vegas will be home to a unique museum featuring organized crime, or as some say, "The Mob." Named The (redacted) Museum: The Las Vegas Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, its first name redaction involved removing the word "mob" from the title.

Logos for the mob museum look like blacked-out court papers. T-shirts state "There is no such thing as a mob museum nor have I ever been there."

Mayor Oscar Goodman happens to have represented figures in organized crime, as a criminal defense lawyer. On the mob museum, he jokingly stated "They've been in my backyard trying to dig up some of the old relics, but so far I've fended them off. We'll have a lot of Oscar-abilia in there."

The FBI supports the opening of the mob museum in Las Vegas, as it will be a history lesson on organized crime and how it affected the city, including how law enforcement handled certain aspects of organized crime. The mob museum is set to open in 2010 at the old courthouse in downtown Las Vegas.

Other weird news this week includes the vision of Virgin Mary being seen in a Springfield, Massachusetts, hospital room window. According to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle, the hospital is fast becoming somewhat of a tourist attraction.

The image is in the window of an unused office on the second floor of the office. At least 300 worshipers and gatherers were seen outside of the hospital window. Some were praying and some snapped pictures of the phenomenon.

Sister Kathy Sullivan, who is Senior Vice President at Mercy Medical Center, stated that even though the origin of the Virgin Mary image was not clear, she was subdued by the amount of faith shown by onlookers.

I decided to write the poem for all of you! I wrote this about two weeks ago A Tribute To Mother Mary author Donna Solitario all rights reserved Mother Mary Mother of God How you suffered, watching Jesus die on the cross Your love and strength on that sad and tragic day Was faithful and enduring as you portrayed Your love for him For those who sinned The pain he endured His fallen tears The tears that you cried As your precious son died Will never leave my mind I love you so For you truly know What he gave on that day Yet, you were so brave I adore your loving ways Mother Mary let us all pray For world peace starting today
