Making crafts with your kids is an excellent way to spend time with them during a busy Christmas season. Your kids can have fun making their own Christmas decorations and you can enjoy making your kids happy and just being with them. There are tons of different Christmas crafts that you can do with your kids. Here is one simple Christmas craft that most kids will be able to do with no problems.

Materials Needed

2 cardboard egg cartons
Large cereal box
Scissors
Green paint
Paintbrush
Red construction paper
Glue
Pencil
Piece of Christmas garland
Foil Christmas wrap
Newspaper

Directions

1. Before you get started making the egg carton Christmas tree, you will want to spread out some newspaper on the surface that you are working on, so that you keep the surface clean.

2. Open the top and bottom of the cereal box and tear the seams open that you have a flat piece of cardboard.

3. Cut the egg carton cups into rows of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 cups. Arrange the cups on the cardboard from the longest row at the bottom to the single cup at the top of the cardboard to form a triangle shape like a Christmas tree. Trace around the cups with a pencil and draw a tree trunk at the bottom of the Christmas tree. Cut the tree shape out of the cardboard.

4. Cover the cardboard with glue and arrange the egg cartons back on the cardboard to form the shape of the Christmas tree. Use a heavy object, such as book, and lay it on the egg carton cups to help the tree dry flat.

5. Paint the Christmas tree green and let it dry completely.

6. Squeeze some glue between all the rows of the cups and press the pieces of Christmas garland between the rows on the glue. You may have to hold it in place for a few seconds to get it to stick. You can also apply a piece of garland at the bottom of the tree by the base of the trunk.

7. Use the Christmas foil wrap and construction paper to make different ornaments for each cup on the tree. Glue the ornaments to the tree. Then, cut out a large star or angel for the top of the tree. Glue the star or angel at the tip of the Christmas tree to finish it off.
