How anyone can doubt VP candidate Sarah Palin's capability to serve as president and commander-in-chief in the event that the McCain-Palin ticket wins and McCain meets with an incapacitating or deadly misfortune is perplexing.

Sarah Palin's impeccable communications skills, demonstrated in recent media interviews including one with CBS's Katie Couric, highlight her competency to become president. When asked for an example of a Supreme Court decision that she disagrees with other than Roe v. Wade, Palin offered this precise and focused response to inform the American public about her views:

"Mm. Well, let's see, there's, of course, in the great history of America, there have been rulings that there's never going to be absolute consensus by every American, and there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So, you know, going through the history of America, there would be others, but..."

And when asked about the pending legislation to bail out Wall St. financial institutions, a subject that surpassed saturation levels in the media days ago and is intimately familiar to every American, Palin described the bailout with particularity:

"Ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health care reform that is needed to help shore up the economy- [Palin looked at notes here.] Oh, it's got to be about job creation too. So health care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions."

I read your comment on my article. I checked out your profile and saw you wrote for Letterman. I read this article of yours. I see your caption on the moose. Pure genius. =)

The idea of Palin in the White House as anything other than a caterer scares the hell out of me. Great humor, you betcha.

What jobythebay is referring to is a comment about victors writing history so that whether one is viewed as revolutionary or terrorist may depend upon successful outcome rather than means used.

I loved this. I was trying to remember when I saw the title the comments you left on my pieces. I remember your saying revolutionaries of yesteryear are todays radicals (or terrorist which I think along with tolerance is the only other word Sarah says correctly) and then I started reading. I love it!

personal maturity? Well that doesn't describe Palin for sure with all her name calling and game playing.

Here's what amazes me: does anyone really know what happens . . . the first day on the job? When the President and VP get a glimpse at all the classified files, and when their advisers step in, and when the Senate and House begin flexing their ideological muscles . . . that's why so many voters emphasize CHARACTER and INTEGRITY even more than specific issues. When surprises arise, as they certainly will, which candidate will have the character, integrity and personal maturity to make intelligent decisions . . . . ?

What "qualifies" Sarah Palin? The ability to motivate conservobots like Tony, regardless of anything close to reality. She is dangerous because the movement is stupid enough to follow her.

Fantastic! For what it's worth (I live in Kansas, which will almost certainly swing McCain's way), I'm NOT voting for McCain-Palin. The pair of them are way, way, way more frightening than anything we'll see this Halloween.

Ah, the beauty of wit!
