Sharing is one of the most important lessons that a parent needs to teach their child. Sharing is also, many times, the hardest lesson for a child to learn and practice. If you hear "Mine!" from your child all the time, then it may be time to try to install more values of sharing with them. A great way to teach your child the lesson of sharing is through reading them books. There are quite a few books out there that are devoted to teaching children how to share and why they should share.

Here are the best books that you can read to your child to teach them the lesson of sharing. These books are best for children ages 3-8 years old.

1. It's Mine by Leo Lionni
In this book, three frogs fight over everything in the pond until they are forced to share the back of a big toad during a flood.

2. One of Each by Mary Ann Hoberman
Oliver Tolliver lives in a house where there is one of everything. He learns though, that having more than one of something and then being able to share it is much better than being alone.

3. Benny's Pennies by Pat Brisson
A little boy spends each of his 5 pennies on a gift for his loved ones.

4. That Toad Is Mine! by Barbara Shook Hazen
Two best friends discover that sharing can be hard when they both want the same toad.

5. Mine! Mine! Mine! by Shelly Becker
Gail refuses to share her toys with her cousin, Claire until her mother steps in and teaches her the importance of sharing.

6. It's Hard To Share My Teacher by Joan Singleton Prestine
Josh gets impatient when he must share Mr. Gilbert's attention with his classmates.

7. The Boy Who Wouldn't Share by Mike Reiss
Edward has tons of toys but will not share any of them with his sister, Claire. That is until he gets stuck under a pile of his toys.

8. Will Sheila Share? by Elivia Savadier
Sheila has a hard time sharing with others until her Nana shows her how great it can be when she shares with others.

9. Ping Won't Share by Lynne Gibbs
Ping is a panda bear who is searching for food with his friends. When he finds some bamboo and eats it all he learns a lesson about sharing with his friends.
