Starting Your Own Web Hosting Business

So you're interested in starting your own webhosting business? Are you starting it because you're looking to earn some quick cash? Or is it because your friend is running one? Or is it because you have a passion for web hosting? Well, it doesn't matter what you answered for the first two questions, but as long as you have a passion for webhosting and you're actually willing to put some time and money into starting your business, then you're on the right track.

Firstly, you need to consider a name. Something catchy, unique and original is a good idea for a name. Use a name which can be easily remembered, this can be something short, or something that is "out-there" that everyone will remember. I would suggest not using the word "host" in your name, as you are trying to be original.

Secondly, you should be designing a business plan. What do you plan to sell? Who do you plan to offer it to? How do you plan on selling it? A business plan is a vital part in having a successful business, if you don't have fun, you will quickly find your business is falling to the ground.

Thirdly, you should hire a lawyer and find out what you need to do to protect yourself and business? It would also be a good idea to design a Terms and Conditions page with your lawyer to make sure you protect yourself and business from any legal threats.

Fourthly, you should find out how to go about registering your business name, and registering for taxes (if needed). You also need to decide what type of business to register as, for example an LLC, Sole Proprietary, etc.

Once you have completed four main steps (as above) you are ready to move on to the finicky part of your webhosting business, this includes, web site development, server provider, control panels, etc.

Are you capable of making a complete website and logo? If not, you should gather all your content together and hire a web developer and or a graphics designer to create your design and import all your content. The other option is to buy a pre-made template and import all your content yourself.
