Comedian and Oscar winner Robin Williams continues his world-wide tour "Weapons of Self Destruction" with all new material when he performs Dec. 10 in Vancouver, BC at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

"The two shows (Dec. 8 and 9 in the same area) sold out in no time," said Linda of Robin-williams.net, a fan website.

Tickets for the Dec. 10 show go on sale at 10 a.m. Oct. 3 and it is recommended that those who want them be on the phone or online just before sales start to make sure they get seats.

Williams' new movies "Shrink" and "World's Greatest Dad" will be in theaters soon and a film called "Prince of Providence" is in pre-production. He was also recently nominated for an Emmy for his guest appearance on TV's "Law & Order Special Victim's Unit" in which he played a criminal in the show's 200th episode. Besides winning a 1998 Academy Award for his role as a counselor in "Good Will Hunting," Williams was also awarded a Grammy for his 2002 tour CD and has garnered numerous other awards through the years including several Golden Globes, People's Choice Awards, a Cecil B. Demille Award, and a Screen Actor's Guild Award.

In unrelated event news, the Dallas Museum of Art presents a King Tut exhibit from National Geographic through May 17 with pieces that are said to be "older than Moses," according to a local magazine. Having started Oct. 3, "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs" is an encore attraction, first appearing on the scene in Texas three years ago. The state is the first to host a repeat showing after the exhibit's recent two-year four-city tour that drew almost four million visitors. (Source: guidelive.com).
